(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 GLFFL Champions League classic, *Gisele beat a strong VINCERO team by a score of 99.60 to 84.40, extending the winning streak for *Gisele to 5 games.
*Gisele were led to their 15.20 point victory by a 37.70 point effort from Tyler Thigpen, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 320 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 57 rushing yards. With this performance, Thigpen was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 16.30 point effort from Santonio Holmes, who got by the Tennessee Titans defense for 93 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. "We finally got the monkey off our backs," *Gisele coach Gisele Buttkiss said. VINCERO were helped out in a losing cause by a 22.80 point effort from Tony Romo, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 252 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 2 rushing yards. They also got help from a 15.70 point effort from Jason Witten, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 87 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. "Our defense was a non-factor," VINCERO coach Richard Smith said. Causing further embarrassment, VINCERO could have scored 125.30 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Richard Smith left key players like Derrick Ward and his corresponding 22.50 points on the bench. This brings the record for *Gisele to 12-2, and drops VINCERO to a record of 10-4. | ||
