| So, I woke up this morning and checked the preliminary results. I'm in good shape, Randy is going to lose. Wohoo, that puts me heads up with Rich, against whom I hold a HTH tie-breaker. If Chris had lost, there would be a three way tie for the top 2 spots and I would likely lose a point tie-breaker to both of them. So, I'm in a rare position where I'm rooting for the team leading my division so the top two teams come out of the same division and get first round byes, right? Wrong! Thanks to this wonderful phrase in the constitution, I might become the first 2nd place team to not get a first round bye: 6 teams will make the play-offs including the 3 division winners, and 3 wild card teams as determined by the next 3 teams in the standings. The top two division winners in the standings will receive a bye for week 14. The 3rd ranking division winner will play the 6th ranking team, and the 4th and 5th place teams will play in week 14. DOH! |

Not to worry, Matt. A quick check of the all-time records show I have a losing record against Jeff (3-7), while you have a .500 record vs. Brian (7-7). By my totally non-scientific calculations, that gives you at least a 35% chance (.5 X .7 = .35) of pulling the Matt Wins/Chris Loses Daily Double. And let's face it, I have been lucky to pull off a 7-game winning streak, so that's **gotta** end sometime soon, right (in fact, I can hear the rest of the league cheering for that)? Good luck this weekend, and may someone from the Trunk-Full-O'-Weed Division bring home the trophy this season! Randy- Any chance we can see your "ünfinished" draft analysis to see how accurate it was as the playoffs approach? |
