Despite the Monday night game being a track meet, I don't see anyway any results are going to change at this point. Fear Itself has clinched a playoff spot but not a division title (as Matt realized last night), and so not a first round bye. Fear Itself loses tiebreakers to Lindy Hoppers (division record) and Bird Brains (head to head), so must win to guarantee a first round bye. Lindy Hoppers have clinched a playoff spot and would clinch the #1 seed with a win and a Fear Itself loss. Otherwise the Lindy Hoppers are playing in week 14. Bird Brains have clinched the division title but not a first round bye, because they lose the tiebreaker to Randy's Dandies (head to head). Bird Brains can guarantee a first round bye with a win. Randy's Dandies have clinched the division title. They need to win and a Bird Brains loss to get a first round bye. Purple Sunday have all but mathematically clinched a playoff spot. The only way Purple Sunday will not make the playoffs is if they end up in a 3 way tie with Whitecaps and C'ville Survivors and the Survivors make up the 183 point difference. Purple Sunday beat both Whitecaps and War Eagles so they really can't lose any tiebreakers. C'ville Survivors will make the playoffs with a win. If they lose, they need both Whitecaps and War Eagles to lose because they lose every tiebreaker. Whitecaps need to win and need the Survivors to lose to make the playoffs. They win any tiebreaker combination with Survivors, but lose every tiebreaker to Purple Sunday. War Eagles need to win, and need losses by Survivors and Whitecaps to win, when they would win a tiebreaker with Survivors because of head to head. I screwed up the renaming possibilities on Sunday, because I got confused towards the end and thought Twinkies and Team Hostess play this week, which is not right. Twinkies and Snowballs play each other this weekend. The loser will be renamed. The winner needs help. Sumthin' 'bout Brett will be renamed with a loss if Snowballs win. SBB lost to Snowballs and would lose a 3 way tie with Team Hostess because of division record. Team Hostess will be renamed with a loss unless Sumthin' 'bout Brett loses and Snowballs win. Team Hostess would be renamed if Twinkies win and SBB loses because SBB beat both the Twinkies and Team Hostess, and then Team Hostess would lose the tiebreaker versus the Twinkies. Twinkies need a win and a Team Hostess loss to avoid renaming. Snowballs need a win and a loss by either Team Hostess or SBB to avoid renaming. This is so much simpler than last year.

I didn't mention the points scored and points against awards. I was going to say last night that Fear Itself looked to have points scored locked up. Then Matt's New Orleans Saints brigade went a little nuts last night so that's still up in the air. Fear Itself has a 24.5 point lead over Lindy Hoppers. Bird Brains are over 60 points behind, it doesn't seem likely that can be overcome. For points against we have a tight 3 team battle between Whitecaps (1451.364), Twinkies (1447.898), and Sumthin' 'bout Brett (1443.91). Whitecaps have the lead and are playing Fear Itself, so they seem to be a favorite.

Before the Sunday night game begins.... For the last 2 wildcard spots, War Eagles have lost and are out. Purple Sunday is in despite almost certainly losing. Whitecaps lead by 60 points and barring an historic game by Adrian Peterson, should win. Survivors have a 2.667 point lead (3rd TE has 2.767 points but it's not added in yet), but Sumthin' 'bout Brett has Hester playing tonight and wins the tiebreaker. If Hester scores 2.667 points, the Whitecaps are in. If not, the Survivors hang on and are in the playoffs. Lindy Hoppers have won, and Fear Itself has almost definitely lost to the Whitecaps, so Lindy Hoppers will be the #1 seed. Randy's Dandies have almost definitely won over Purple Sunday unless Bears defense scores a whole lot of points. Bird Brains have a 11.168 point lead (Hostess' 3rd TE is not in the points yet) and will win if Longwell scores less than 12 points and have a first round bye. If Longwell scores 12 points then Randy's Dandies get a first round bye. Twinkies and Snowballs have so many players still to play that I have no idea who is winning, and I doubt we will until after Monday night, so the renaming race is still unclear. If SBB gets the 2.667 points from Hester they are safe, and if Hostess gets the 12 points from Longwell they are safe. If both happen, both Twinkies and Snowballs will be renamed. If only SBB wins, the winner of Twinkies and Snowballs will be safe and Hostess will be renamed (barring a tie between Twinkies and Snowballs). If only Hostess wins, then the Twinkies are renamed and SBB will avoid renaming only if the Twinkies beat Snowballs. If both lose, then the winner of Twinkies and Snowballs will be safe, but SBB and Hostess won't know who is the other renamed team until after Monday night.

With Hester's TD, it looks like we're settled on our 6 playoff teams. If Randy beats Terry and Rich holds on against Mark, and Terry doesn't pass Jeff in total points, then the following playoff seeding will hold. 1) Matt, 2) Rich, 3) Randy, 4) Chris, 5) Jeff, 6) Terry. Interestingly enough, that will result in Chris playing Jeff and Randy playing Terry, which is a week 13 rematch for all 4 teams.

I held on by 1.5 points, so if there aren't any midweek scoring changes, the playoffs are set as Matt listed. Matt also clinched most points for the season with 2 huge weeks 12 and 13. Team Hostess will also be renamed, Mark loses the tiebreaker to both 3-9 teams. The last renaming victim is still up in the air. Snowballs have a 26 point lead. Twinkies have Rosenfels and Jones-Drew tonight, but Snowballs have 2 of Rosenfels' receivers, Daniels and Walters. The most points against is also up in the air. Twinkies need Snowballs to score about 7.5 points tonight to "win" that award.

Wow, I think the most points against award is going to be decided by less than a point.
