Ideally we should setup the playoff brackets and pay-out formula prior to starting the season. It's gotta be different this year because we only have 10 owners. So configuring the playoff brackets I came up with another pay-out formula idea.  The playoff bracket currently setup (drill down to playoff bracket under the "reports" tab) seeds the top 4 teams in the "Masters" (black belt) division, and the remaining 6 teams in the consolation bracket (yellow belts).  The consolation bracket winner will receive a $100 pay-out.  The Masters division is topay-out $150 to each of the top 4 seeds. The team with the best record will receive an additional $100, the Master division champ will receive $200.

Masters bracket seed 1   $150
Masters bracket seed 2   $150
Masters bracket seed 3   $150
Masters bracket seed 4   $150
Best overall record      $100
Masters bracket winner   $200

Consolation bracket winner   $100

In Summary there is a 100% pay-out of league owner fees. The top 4 teams will finish in the money, and have a chance at the larger pay-out. With this setup only teams with winning records will compete for the championship; yet nobody can earn more than 50% of the total pot - and 5 owners will finish in the money. The remaining 6 teams will be able to compete for the $100 consolation bracket prize, and perhaps more importantly get to play out the NFL fantasy schedule.

This is the playoff bracket and pay-out schedule I'm leaning to.  Would appreciate your thoughts and input.

Yo Owners - please review the playoff setup - keep in mind only 4 teams will make the Masters round.

Playoff start week 15.

You can view the playoff bracket configuration by drilling down REPORTS/LEAGUE/PLAYOFF BRACKETS.

Top 4 teams playoffs are weeks 15 & 16 (bypass the dreaded week 17).

Conosolation team playoffs are weeks 15-17 (they get extra game because 6 teams are in this round).

Consolation bracket plays for a $100 prize.

Draft seeding will be as per regular season record... I'm not sure yet how the playoff records will factor... but leaning to using that as a tie-breaker for seeding.

Thanks for info. That is what I thought, just confirmation.
I can't say often enough, thanks for dealing with everything as a commish.  :-D

As a team owner, how about losing this week?

Tell you what - being the commish has been a lot easier this year... guess we got most of the bugs worked out last season - it's nice to be able to focus on managing the team.

As an owner: I'm going to do my best to put my foot on your throat and send you to the yellow belt division this week :-)

I never seem to get the foot off my throat.

I seem to play you and OD, or Lineman and Mama Bears every other week.
or the other teams have record weeks when they are on the couch.

So I'll bring my Mash unit waiver wire wonders to the battle;

Let's get it on.  :-P: Bring it.

I kinda like that handle - Waiver Wire Wonders - but thats what happens when you trade for Westbrook and draft Bush

Well Westy did his usual. Doesn't practice, questionable to play.
Then puts up (4) touchdowns, lucky I decided to play him this week.:-D

We'll see about Bush. I don't think he'll play much.
